Jonathan Cullum has started a new company in the Glass Industry called SOFTSOLUTION-USK, INC. Jonathan, former president of Lisec America Software, left Lisec and moved from the chilly wastes of Minnesota to a sunny retreat in Florida, just north of Tampa Bay, in July 2003. The name �SOFTSOLUTION-USK, INC.� was derived from our partner in Austria and the US and UK market responsibility the company has with its sales areas being North America, the UK and Ireland. Florida seemed a perfect choice partly due to the climate change but also due to the accessibility of the three Airports of Orlando, Tampa and St. Petersburg.
SOFTSOLUTION-USK, INC. is partnered with SoftSolution GMBH in Austria, headed by Thomas Schuller. SoftSolution specializes in unique problems within the glass industry and works to create easy and simple resolutions. Joining innovative software programming with current technology both specialized and common, SoftSolution are able to bring affordable solutions to these problems.
One such example is the revolutionary new �Virtual Digitizing� software program, which combines Digital Photograph technology with innovative software programming. The problems with templates will be solved. With Virtual Digitizing companies will be able to process templates without large and expensive Digitizing tables as well as providing a tool to create accurate dimensions on site, replacing the need to even make a template.
With currently 50 installations worldwide, this simple, but revolutionary concept, will change the way templated shapes are handled, stored and processed, eventually leading to the glass, wood and stone industries never needing to produce a template on site again and the processors never needing to store patterns, buy expensive, large digitizers and waste money processing these time consuming shapes.
From a digital photograph, the user will be able to digitize and produce a CAD file, from templates, openings on site, broken/replacement windows and even vinyl window frames. The applications do not stop there, with high interest from the industry more and more applications are coming to the fore.
Photographs can be taken from any angle, Virtual Digitizing not only corrects for this it even removes any distortion in the camera lens itself. The software is simple to use with a required training time measured in minutes. Installation and complete training takes a maximum of one day, at the end of which the user will be fully conversant with the program and technology and will be processing shapes straight from the Virtual Digitizing software. Virtual Digitizing, installed worldwide, is a simple and revolutionary concept, it will change the way templated shapes are processed.
